Scavenger Hunt Ornaments

I realize that I'm probably the sole individual in blog-land still posting about Christmas, but these ornaments orchestrated by Mother were just too darling not to share.
Mother purchased a plastic ball ornament and bedazzled initial stickers for each grand while we were down South celebrating.  We then went out into the yard to gather up things to stuff in the ornaments.  The PCP went to great lengths to collect curly bark from the river birch. (That is a river birch, right??  Have I ever mentioned that nature and I don't really click, try as I might.)
Laden with treasures of bark, moss, feathers, shells and leaves, we went to work stuffing the ornaments.  Mimi also helped the the littles funnel in some sparkly snow (you know, since we sure didn't find any of that outside.)
When they were done poking, shoving and funneling, we snapped the tops on and adhered the initial stickers. And they turned out absolutely adorable...so much better than I ever imagined.  They were FUN to make and will be a great memory of our holiday in Savannah.  I would really love to have a whole tree of these beauts...
Come to think of it, not only am I still blogging about Christmas, but I also have trees up all over my house and wreaths on every window.  I kinda like that Catholics don't take their decor down until after the Epiphany.  Gives me a grand excuse for my after the holidays slump.

xoxo

I still have my tree up and all my outdoor stuff. And we are leaving for WDW on Saturday so I doubt it will come down before we get back. Sad. But true.

I love reading your blog!

Are you kidding? I love all things Christmas..still have my decorations up and will be "tearing down" this coming weekend..Waited until after the Epiphany. Still out there finding the after Christmas sale bargains. I decorate my entire home from top to bottom for Christmas..Love it..I am pinning your mom's ornament. It is great. I made a Lego tree for my granddaughter and filled the clear ornaments with them. They are so wonderful to work with!

The ornaments are beautiful. Even though I am so over Christmas, I will be bookmarking this post for next year. These are awesome. Thanks for sharing at DIYbyDesign.

Hi there,

What sweet ornaments! And, fun to make, too!

In my corner of the world some friends and neighbours, me included, still have trees and decorations up! Yes, indeed, and only this past week, I was invited to share a little 'Christmas' at a couple of gatherings that were among the nicest experiences this 'season'! Lol

I will soon have to swap out the Christmas photos on my blog's static page for garden pics and I am reluctant to say good-bye to all the holiday bling for another year. So, I, for one, don't mind at all browsing Christmas posts still...

Hugs,
Linda at Beautiful Ideas

What a fun idea! Considering some of the "grands" are boys, I'm wondering if you ended up with any, er, crawling things in those ornaments :)
